Therefore, Kurdistan is not excluded from this global phenomenon and a large number of people have turned to the use of the Internet. What distinguishes Kurdistan from the developed countries of Internet use is the existence of several problems in Kurdistan It is obvious that it is the city of Ranya.

Ranya is a large area with a large population and a large number of internet users, internet users wish to have a good line and do their jobs, but this wish is still a dream and has not come true and constantly complain about low quality and expensive They charge for internet connections, but they don't know what to do to get rid of this problem.

The lines that reach Ranya are in two ways, the first is satellite internet, which is received through satellites, the second is fiber optic, which is through towers. In both ways, the lines are brought into Ranya from Erbil and Sulaimani.

Currently, there are a large number of internet distribution companies in Ranya, despite the fact that there are several centers and clubs dedicated to the internet in the city, the companies that currently distribute internet connections are these companies (Pasha Net, Spider Net, Time Net, Zanyar Electronic). In addition, Fanos Telecom distributes internet connections through telephone devices, and a number of other internet users use mobile internet connections through both Asiacell and Korrek Telecom.

Some of these companies do not have a license to operate and have decided to close, but they continue to operate and some owe the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the Kurdistan Regional Government and also have a license to close until the debts are returned to the ministry. The names of companies are constantly changing in Ranya, which is due to the fact that those who have permission to close or owe the ministry to save themselves from such problems go to open companies under other names, which is becoming a phenomenon.

Internet subscribers are unhappy

Malband Ghazi is one of the young people who are experts in the field of IT and as he pointed out that he has changed several lines, but none of them have been satisfied with him The main problem is the slowness of the lines, he said, attributing the reason to the fact that these companies buy a small amount of lines that is (3 to 4 mg) and the number of participants is large IT said that with this low quality, the prices are very high and not at the level of the bad line.

There are several ways to own an internet connection in Ranya, some of them are by card and you pay a certain amount according to the hour, another way of participation is monthly, but there is a difference in price as follows (40,70,100) thousand dinars per month. The line that pays 100,000 dinars per month is a little better than the other two lines. Another number of young people in Ranya daily turn to the internet clubs and centers in the city, these clubs and centers are a little better in the way of participation and from one internet club to another in terms of quality and price Between (1000 to 5000) dinars.

Awat Osman, a journalist in Ranya, said that despite the existence of several internet lines, but there are many shortcomings in the internet lines in terms of low quality and expensive prices and none of these lines have not been able to trust internet users He said that the governor of Ranya has closed several companies, but none of the other companies have not improved their lines and have not been satisfied with the internet users in Ranya If they do not improve their lines and lower their prices, the number of internet users in Ranya will decrease.

Internet users in Ranya often face another problem with the confusion of the lines of companies, especially those who are far from the companies that received the lines, which makes no one use it and their lines disappear.

Nawzad Bakr, a university student who has been visiting internet clubs and centers for a long time, believes that the internet centers have not been able to serve the people who visit them properly The student said he used to use the internet through his mobile phone but now he has given up because it is useful. Business owners have their say

M. Adib, owner of the latest company, said the internet connection is slower than other cities and the reason is due to the sources that they take their lines, he cited the example that those who receive the Internet through satellites are not good quality. He said that we buy the lines at twice the price of Erbil and Sulaimani, they pay between (400 to 500) dollars per megawatt, but we buy in Ranya (1200) dollars and the quality is the same They are not good, Mr. Adib said. However, the lines are better this year than in the past.

Ibrahim Bapir, owner of Spidernet, said that the lines that reach us through wireless and points and expensive depends on us and they pay (600 to 650) dollars for a mega in Erbil and Sulaimani, but we buy (900) dollars. He believed that those who say that the lines are low quality and expensive do not know how much we buy these lines if they know they do not complain.

However, the latest letter to the Ranya Post and Delivery Directorate was dated (14/12/2010) and the names of these companies (Zanyar Electronic, Spidernet, Miral, Technician) but some of these names have changed without the knowledge of this directorate Omar Rasul Daud, the director of post and delivery in Ranya, said that they have no information about the high prices and low quality of the internet connection in Ranya.

What is the solution?

The owner of Pashanet said that the basic solution to make our lines like other cities is to buy the lines at the same price as Erbil and Sulaimani so that we can distribute them as they are and the users will not have this problem.

Malband Gazi believes that the solution is for the companies in Ranya to distribute the lines with the same quality and price so that internet users can benefit from it.

“Internet distribution companies must address their low quality and high prices in order to reconcile internet users,” Awat Osman said.

Nawzad Bakr hopes that the companies of Erbil and Sulaimani will come to Ranya and distribute the internet lines and no longer suffer from this problem because if we intend to companies in Ranya, it is difficult to solve the problem of internet lines so easily.

The owner of Spidernet also attributes the solution to buying lines at the same price in Erbil and Sulaimani to get rid of this problem, he said to improve the lines have some servers in the future free of charge to citizens.
